WHO I AM
Biography and Research Statement
I am a third-year Industrial-Organizational Psychology Ph.D. student at FIU with research interests in Diversity and Inclusion and how intersectional identities influence people's community-based, educational, recreational, and vocational experiences. My current research involves conceptualizing the sports team as a workplace and discovering new ways to support athlete performance. I hope to use cutting-edge I/O psychology theoretical frameworks and data-driven insights to help reinvent the way that athletic organizations function. I am also interested in community wellness work and conducting research in partnership with Affirming YOUth Foundation to diminish social determinants of health and health disparities. After completing my doctoral program, I aim to enter the athletics field and conduct applied work to affirm the well-being of athletes at all levels and the long-term success of athletic programs.
