Conceptualizing the student-athlete position as a job rather than a volunteer position and utilizing I-O psychology theoretical frameworks to determine the resources afforded to student-athletes and to ascertain how to improve support for student-athletes.

SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH

Utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to both investigate how social determinants of health (SDOH) influence poverty, gun violence, and other societal ills and to propose programs and practices that reduce the impacts of SDOH.

More Than An Athlete? Conceptualizing Student-Athlete Experiences with the Job Demands-Resources Model

This study will examine the personal and job resources of Men’s and Women’s NCAA athletes. You will complete a survey addressing multiple topics of interest, such as your workload as a full-time student and full-time athlete, the demands expressed to you by your coaches and professors/advisors, and the resources leveraged to you by your athletic and academic departments.
